At the beginning at your project take a look at your site and it’s location, consider the following:
Access
Does the site have good vehicular access? wide opening or gate to allow for large vehicles to turn into the site and reach the position of the proposed area?
Look overhead
Are there telephone lines and cables? some equipment may need to be lifted onto site.
Underground services
Obtain information about the location of these from your local council.
Soil
This may be contaminated, or have stipulations that ground can only be excavated to a particular depth again it is advisable to speak with your local council about this matter.
Storage
Do you have a village hall or lock up on site that could be used for storing new equipment whilst works are carried out. If not available a playground supplier will bring containers on site, for this purpose.
Security Fencing
Whilst the installation is taking place it must have heras type fencing to keep it secure and stop the public from harm.
Facilities
If you are installing a site many playground suppliers will charge for this, if they are available on site, save some pennies.
Levels
Make sure that levels are taken by the provider and allowed for in the quotation.
Reinstatement
Always make sure there is a contingency for this in your quotation. If a site is installed in wet weather it can greatly disturb existing surfaces.
Delivery
Ensure you quotation has delivery costs included.
Post Installation Inspection
This is VERY important, after your site is completed, have a qualified RPII inspector come to inspect and sign off the site.
The above list is a brief guide to surveying your site, we would be happy to come and survey your site and help make sure all potential issues are allowed for, please contact us for further information.
